HSC follows the protocols and guidelines provided by both the Office of the Governor and Washington Youth Soccer (WYS) concerning COVID-19 and continues to keep safety the top priority for its players, coaches, and other participants.

HSC is recommending masks for U08-U18 divisions except for players during active play

The HSC Protocols below are the minimum REQUIRED by Washington State and WYS.  HSC is recommending more cautious guidelines to protect our unvaccinated players.  With that in mind HSC is recommending the following:

• HSC Coaches of U08-U18 teams are strongly recommended to be masked at all times during practices and games to protect their players.
• HSC Players are strongly recommended to be masked when not in active play.
• All spectators who are not socially distanced are strongly recommended to be masked.

WYS League Protocol/Safety Plan Fall 2021
As of 8/29/2021, the WA State Governor’s Office and Department of Health are NOT requiring players, coaches, or spectators to wear masks at training or games, although they may choose to wear one.  Physical distancing among spectators is strongly encouraged.  WA Youth Soccer will continue to follow the guidance of these two offices with regards to the health and safety of players.  Should any new guidelines come out that effect players, coaches, or spectators at training or games, this document will be updated and redistributed.

• All players and opponents are not required to wear facial coverings for any outdoor activities, including soccer games.
• All fully vaccinated individuals, including coaches, players, parents, family members and officials are no longer required to wear a mask.
• UNVACCINATED coaches must wear a mask while arriving to, participating in and departing from practices or games.
• No player or coach should attend any game if they show signs of COVID-19 or have been in close contact of a confirmed case.
• Should any player participating in an HSC game choose to wear a mask at any time that decision will be openly accepted and tolerated and the decision to wear a mask will not affect that player’s standing on their team or playing time in any way.

Note:  Local fields, and parks, counties, cities, or clubs may have rules that dictate that a mask maybe need to be worn at those locations.
